Top Robot Vacuums and Mop Combos
Robots aren't so good at removing particles such as metal screws or pieces of pasta. However, they are great at cleaning pet hair, dust, and dust. The best models feature smart navigation technology and object avoidance capabilities that help them maneuver around cords, toys and other obstacles in the household.
1. IRobot Roomba i3+ EVO
The iRobot Roomba i3+ EVO is a fantastic robot vacuum that comes with a range of innovative features that make it much easier to maintain than other models. The automatic bin emptying feature is among the best features we've ever seen in a robot vacuum. It works well on carpets and hard floors. The app walks you through the entire process. It's also simple to use and set up. Another feature that is impressive is the ability to go back to the spot where it began in our tests. It did this for 77 minutes in one cleaning before running out of battery.
The i3+ EVO is different from the other robot vacuums that we tested has a self-emptying bin that automatically dumps debris in an external dirt compartment located on its charging base once it's full. This reduces hands-on maintenance and helps keep the i3+ EVO from overfilling, however it must be manually cleaned after each cleaning session. The i3+ EVO dustbin can hold 2.4L that is enough to last through four to five cleaning sessions.
Like the i7, this model uses state-of-the-art floor tracking sensors to create maps and navigate neat rows. The i3+ EVO can only keep one map, whereas the i7 is able to store multiple. The i7's map is used to create virtual barriers and no-go zones, but not the i3+ EVO.
While the i3+ EVO is better in removing dirt and debris from surfaces than the other robovacs we looked at however, it's not the most effective in terms of cleaning corners and edges. It's also a bit less gentle on furniture, despite being fairly quiet. It pulled chairs away from walls and made some collisions with the sides of our test bed, and it became stuck on cords and toys while testing.
2. Black & Decker Q5 Pro
If you're looking to increase your collection of robot vacuums, or just beginning your journey, the Q5 Pro is a great option. It packs serious power, a smart navigation system and easy automation into a slick design at an affordable price. It's the best value for the money available currently, and it even matches some Roborock models that are much more expensive in many ways.
This robot is excellent in cleaning floors that are dirty, and its avoidance tech helps it to steer away from furniture legs or other obstacles. It also performs well on carpets and gets the highest score on our tests of navigation. The only drawback is that it's noisier than other models and doesn't perform as well in our satisfaction of the owner and predicted reliability assessments.
The Q5 Pro has a very large dust bin of 770ml which means you don't have to empty it as frequently as some other 2-in-1 robots. The Q5 Pro's 240-minute running time is also impressive when compared to other 2-in-1 robots that we tested. When the battery is low, it will automatically return to its dock where it recharges and then resumes cleaning from where it left off. You can manage the Q5 Pro via the app and also use voice commands using Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
This is the first robot we've seen with 3D mapping. This along with other advancements made it perform extremely well in our tests of vacuuming and mopping test. You can schedule cleaning times, set no-go zones, and view the battery's status among other things. The app is simple to use, but it does not support Apple HomeKit. This feature is scheduled to be added in 2025. As of early November, Apple has updated a footnote on its website to reflect that this feature is delayed until 2025. HomeKit is not compatible with several other robots, but Siri Shortcuts are.
3. TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus
The TP-Link Tapo RV30 Plus robot vacuum cleaner is a fantastic choice if you are looking for a robot that can mop as well and is reasonably priced. It offers an impressive set of features for the cost and features a stylish design. It can be controlled using the buttons on the machine, via the app or even with voice commands. The device is powered by batteries, and the vacuum container can automatically empty itself.
The TP-Link RV30 Plus is a great vacuum cleaner for standard messy messes. It can also be used to lightly mop on hard floors. It comes with a new sweeping brush and mopping cloth, aswell being a HEPA-filter. It can be connected to a smart hub like Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to control the device using voice. The TP-Link RV30 Plus is easy to install and can be connected to a variety of flooring surfaces by using the automatic mode. This ensures the best cleaning results for every room and floor type.
You can select three cleaning modes that will meet your needs. The vacuuming mode uses the smart sensor for detection of obstacles like furniture, stairs and edges. The mopping mode is used to sweep the floor on a regular basis or to eliminate liquid spills and stubborn stains. A third option allows you to combine the two features for a thorough and thorough cleaning.

You can also create virtual walls and no-go zones to stop the RV30 Plus from wandering into areas that you don't want it enter.
4. Eufy iMop
The Eufy iMop is one of the most powerful fully-featured robot vacuums and mops for hard floors. It comes with a cutting-edge mapping system that maps your home even across multiple floors. The base station is well-designed, and automates cleaning to a large degree. It provides excellent obstacle avoidance and navigation.
This model uses an internal dToF LiDAR sensor to map your home and create efficient cleaning routes. The iMop awed us with its analysis of coverage and navigation efficiency, and it was very efficient in avoiding obstacles, including furniture. It also has the ability to find its way back to the base station, which is a great feature in the event it is unable to recharge its battery during cleaning.
The spot cleaning mode allows you to clean a particular area on your floor. It can also be programmed to follow a specific route, which is helpful in narrow staircases or hallways. It was capable of cleaning carpets during our carpet cleaning test however, it had trouble with thicker pile carpets and rug. It can be set up to lift the mop pad automatically whenever it comes into contact with carpet. This is a great option for those looking to save the time of mopping their carpets.
The iMop features an onboard dust bin and an water tank that is filled and refilled at the end of each cleaning session. The onboard dust bin holds up to 2.5 liters of debris. It should only need emptying every couple of cleaning cycles. The water tank can handle half a dozen mopping sessions before it is dry. The iMop requires less maintenance and cleaning than the typical robot vacuum, which could be a major selling point for busy families.
The iMop's smartphone app is easy to use and comes with a variety of configuration options. It offers different suction settings, mopping settings and scheduling. It lets you create virtual walls, no-go zones and other limitations to ensure that your robot doesn't wander off into prohibited areas. The app also provides access to iMop status and error messages.
